I find it somewhat troublesome how you and Mr. Yan can boil it down to simple 'perception.'

Indeed, Hamas certainly has its pundits and political experts who are monitoring the continuous stream of international news agencies, always seeking a better 'spit 'n polish' on their image.

I mean, it's gotta hurt when you've been branded a terriorist front op for suicide bombers and the like.

I liken what Hamas will do to what the Freedom Party did in Austria, and the perception flip-flops they managed in order to make themselves more palpable.

If we're all going to deceive ourselves that despite a change in 'tactics' and 'perception' that Hamas has renounced its stated aims...whichever they may be at the time...then I think we're misperceiving the situation very wrongly.

Can anyone tell me this? Why does Hamas/Israel/the bombers receive such inflated coverage on the news?

Why should we care?

Is it just because the rest of the world does, or does the concerted interest belie something more profound about which we're not speaking?
